MCA Financial Group is pleased to announce that Steve Bertram, CPA, CFE, has joined the firm as a Senior Director, further strengthening MCA’s dispute advisory, forensic accounting, litigation support, valuation, and restructuring capabilities.

Steve brings a strong technical foundation in financial analysis, damages, solvency, lost profits, market analysis, and financial reporting. His experience spans a wide range of complex matters, including litigation support, Chapter 11 plan feasibility, unfair competition, settlement compliance, and financial advisory work involving companies across the chemical, retail, trucking, manufacturing, supermarket and grocery, building automation, venture capital, and other industries.

Steve’s experience is a strong fit for MCA and the clients we serve,” said Morrie Aaron, President and Senior Managing Director at MCA Financial Group. “He has worked on complex financial matters that require analytical depth, technical accounting knowledge, and the ability to communicate findings clearly. Those qualities are especially valuable in disputes, restructuring situations, and other high-stakes engagements where clients need both precision and practical insight.”

Prior to joining MCA, Steve was a Manager with Alvarez & Marsal’s Disputes and Investigations practice in Phoenix. While there, he performed solvency analyses for companies with enterprise values ranging from $1 million to $7 billion, assisted with affirmative and rebuttal lost-profits reports, evaluated financial projections, and supported counsel in preparation for depositions and cross-examinations of fact and expert witnesses.

His work also included litigation support for international manufacturers, including reviewing and analyzing large volumes of data related to settlement compliance and enforcement matters. In addition, Steve performed market analysis, calculated injury related to unfair competition, and assisted in drafting a declaration submitted to the United States International Trade Commission.

Before his work in disputes and investigations, Steve began his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he provided audit services to clients in the supermarket and grocery, building automation, and venture capital industries. His audit work included testing of inventory, debt, earnings per share, employee compensation, operating expenses, accounts payable, tax expense, and cash.

Steve earned both a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting, summa cum laude, and a Master of Accounting from the University of Arizona’s Eller College of Management. He is a Certified Public Accountant in Arizona and a Certified Fraud Examiner.

Steve’s addition supports MCA Financial Group’s continued commitment to assembling experienced professionals who can provide clear analysis, practical guidance, and dependable execution across complex financial, operational, and legal matters.
