ABOUT JEFF
Jeff Clasen, CPA, is a Senior Director with MCA Financial Group. Jeff brings experience in financial reporting, forensic accounting, litigation support, bankruptcy reporting, valuation, solvency analysis, and transaction-related advisory work. His background includes supporting companies, private equity firms, trustees, and legal professionals with complex financial matters requiring detailed analysis, strong technical accounting knowledge, and clear financial reporting.
Prior to joining MCA, Jeff served as a Senior Associate with Alvarez & Marsal, where he worked across the firm’s Private Equity Performance Improvement and Disputes and Investigations practices. His experience includes supporting clients in healthcare services, pharmaceuticals, cryptocurrency, gaming, airlines, offshore drilling, and private equity. His work included preparing U.S. GAAP financial statements for carve-out transactions, supporting financial statement audits, preparing Monthly Operating Reports and court-mandated bankruptcy filings for Chapter 11 companies, conducting forensic accounting analyses, and assisting with expert reports for litigation matters. He also supported a private equity firm with $7 billion in assets under management, helping streamline quarterly close processes, reconcile fund financials, and prepare investment summaries.
Earlier in his career, Jeff worked as an Audit Associate with Deloitte, where he conducted financial statement audits for a publicly traded real estate investment trust with approximately $7 billion in real estate assets. His work included debt analysis, operating expense testing, valuation reviews, risk assessments, and evaluations of complex real estate investment valuations.
Jeff holds both a Master’s Degree in Accounting and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Arizona State University’s Barrett Honors College. He is also a Certified Public Accountant in Arizona.
Away from the office, Jeff enjoys spending time outdoors, golfing, hiking throughout the Valley, and being with friends and family.
