ABOUT MICHAEL
Michael Montoya Jr. is the Controller at MCA Financial Group, bringing more than 15 years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, multi-entity reporting, and operations leadership. He has a strong background in GAAP, budgeting, internal controls, and tax compliance, supported by ongoing CPA preparation.
Before joining MCA, Michael served as Controller for a multi-entity construction services company, where he led all financial operations, cash flow planning, project cost forecasting, payroll, AP/AR, and regulatory compliance. He advanced quickly from Accounting Specialist to Controller, improving reporting accuracy, reconciling complex multi-state accounts, managing tax and annual filings, and strengthening financial processes across the organization.
Earlier in his career at UPS, Michael held operations leadership roles overseeing large teams, HR functions, payroll, safety compliance, and productivity initiatives.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from DeVry University and has completed additional coursework in leadership, human resources, cybersecurity, and coding. His technical expertise includes Oracle, QuickBooks, SmartSheet, Concur, SuccessWare, and advanced Excel.
Outside of work, Michael values time with his family, enjoys being outdoors, and is a lifelong baseball enthusiast.
